Bjorn Sundal, Ph.D., Vice President and Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Sundal took the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for GM-I after GM-I’s acquisition of IDEAS ASA (Norway), where he served as Ideas Manager of Sales and Technology from 2001.  He joined the company in 1996 and held positions as Senior Scientist and Project Manager. Dr. Sundal is a world renowned expert in all aspects of instrumentation for radiation sensing with experience in use of solid-state detector materials, especially CZT and CdTe. Prior to joining IDEAS, Dr. Sundal earned his Ph.D. from the University of Oslo, working mainly on particle physics and instrumentation for particle physics at CERN.

Gamma Medica-Ideas helps primary researchers in academia, pharmaceutical companies, and Contract Research Organizations, by developing medical devices and techniques to support molecular imaging of living subjects, through the design, manufacture and marketing of advanced imaging devices targeted at the pharmaceutical pre-clinical research and clinical diagnostic markets, therefore enabling new drug discovery.
