Gamma Medica-Ideas

Triumph Multi Modalyti

Gamma Medica-Ideas helps primary researchers in academia, pharmaceutical companies, and Contract Research Organizations, by developing medical devices and techniques to support molecular imaging of living subjects, through the design, manufacture and marketing of advanced imaging devices targeted at the pharmaceutical pre-clinical research and clinical diagnostic markets, therefore enabling new drug discovery. The products that we develop also facilitate the study of disease and the development of treatments.

In Vivo Functional Imaging for the Lab

Researchers can more easily and effectively monitor disease processes and better understand the effects of new drug treatments. Animal subjects can be studied over time with repeat measurements on the same animals. Gamma Medica-Ideas offers two types of PET systems, the X-PET™ and the LabPET™, both of which can be used in evaluating new pharmaceutical products and to further understand normal and abnormal bio-systems dynamically. Both are offered as part of the FLEX Triumph™ platform.

Fully digital Positron Emission Tomography for unprecedented imaging performance

LabPET™ provides the researcher with the ability to visualize and quantify biological processes in small animals. LabPET is offered as part of Gamma Medica-Ideas’ FLEX Triumph™ platform. LabPET’s better image contrast due to "true pixel" resolution (no resolution degradation or spatial distortion due to coding), as well as higher count rate performance, make it a superior system.

Technology

LabPET ‘s core technology features Avalanche PhotoDiode (APD) detectors and fully digital signal processing, which enables unprecedented imaging performance. The LabPET detector design achieves true crystal geometric resolution: no resolution loss due to light sharing or electronic coding. The superior full-width-at-tenth-of-maximum (FWTM) resolution improves image contrast and edge sharpness, leading to clearer images.

Applications

Pharmacokinetics/Pharmacodynamics

The very high count rate and NEC achieved by LabPET provides extra benefits for those performing PK/PD studies of labelled drugs, enabling measurement of input function, including first-pass of the radiotracer.

Biodistribution studies in mice

The LabPET detector achieves superior reconstructed resolution and contrast, thereby providing the best image definition and accuracy for biodistribution studies in mice.
